Job summary

Providence Health & Services is seeking a Senior Claims Manager for Employment Practice Liability in a fully remote capacity. You will handle EPL claims, analyze coverage, conduct investigations, and work with defense counsel and business partners to direct litigation activities and settlements.

The role requires strong communication, strategic negotiation, and leadership in loss exposure management, with potential travel to mediations, arbitrations, or trials as needed, while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law, HR or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years Employment law, risk management or insurance related to employment practices.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• J.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and resolve coverage issues for Employment Practices claims.
• Investigate the claims through telephone, written correspondence, and/or personal contact with attorneys, business partners, witnesses and others having pertinent information.
• Effectively and efficiently present claims and claim trends to Claim and Legal Leadership to include discussion of coverage, liability assessment and ultimate exposure to the organization.
• Timely analyze information in order to evaluate assigned claims to determine ultimate exposure to the organization.
• Effectively evaluate, negotiate and resolve claims in collaboration with defense counsel and within provided authority utilizing the appropriate denials or releases.
• Provide required reports to leadership, claims, reinsurance, and legal on significant exposure cases.
• Report on all cases going to trial on a timely basis and attend portions of trials when warranted or requested by management.
• Ensure proper referrals and timely updates to appropriate Reinsurer(s).
