Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC - Public Risk Group is seeking a Claims Attorney to handle litigated and non-litigated claims arising under Auto, General Liability, and related policies for municipal entities. The role emphasizes coverage interpretation, collaboration with outside counsel, and building expertise across jurisdictions.

You will work toward obtaining adjusting licenses, develop independent work habits, and contribute to a growing casualty claims team in a fast-paced insurance environment.

Qualifications

• JD required for eligibility.
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience; 2+ years handling claims preferred.
• Active Adjuster’s License or plan to obtain within six months.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Interpret coverage and collaborate with outside counsel to analyze and resolve claims.
• Investigate, analyze liability and damages exposure; draft coverage position letters.
• Develop strategies for resolution of litigated and non-litigated claims and establish reserves.
• Maintain claim files in accordance with policy and procedure; report to senior management.
