Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer III to join the High Performance Building Group. This mid-level role focuses on facilities and infrastructure across the U.S., including federal, commercial, manufacturing, renewable energy, data centers, microgrids, and public health facilities.

The position involves professional services for planning, design, and construction phase engineering, with a remote/hybrid work option and travel up to 30% nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Mentoring and/or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support civil design including site layout, utility designs, grading, drainage, and stormwater management.
• Analyze data and review project work products, including site-specific technical data, engineering design calculations, reports, cost estimates, and environmental permit applications.
• Mentor/lead staff as a civil engineer lead.
• Interact with clients and manage client relationships.
• Ensure quality of work and adherence to project schedules.
• Interpret UFC, stormwater regulations, and local zoning/site development rules.
• Conduct hydrologic/hydraulic modeling with HEC-RAS, GeoSTORM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
