Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer III to join our High Performance Building Group, focusing on facilities and infrastructure across the United States.

The role supports projects in federal, commercial, renewable energy, data centers, and public health facilities, with a strong emphasis on design through construction phase engineering. The position offers remote, hybrid, or in-office work options, requires 3–5 years of stormwater and land development experience, and necessitates a PE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineering license is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in stormwater design, land development, water distribution, and related systems.
• Previous mentoring and/or supervisory experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Will travel across the United States for project meetings (about 30%).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support civil design including site layout, utilities, grading, drainage, and stormwater management.
• Analyze data and review project work products and calculations.
• Participate in client interaction and client management efforts.
• Mentor/lead staff as a civil engineer lead.
• Monitor work output to maintain quality of work product.
• Interpret UFC, stormwater requirements, and local regulations.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS, GeoSTORM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Apply civil/environmental engineering principles across projects.
