Job summary

Cherry Bekaert LLP is seeking an Accounting Advisory Manager to join our national CFO Advisory practice. You will partner with Corporate Accounting and Finance teams to address complex accounting challenges, enhance financial reporting, and navigate evolving regulatory requirements.

You will lead client engagements across technical accounting, SEC reporting, financial transformation, and transaction-related initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA license highly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting, advisory, or industry accounting environments.
• Experience with SEC registrants, public companies, or PE-backed organizations is a plus.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to research and resolve complex issues.
• Experience with month-end close, financial/SEC reporting processes.
• Proven project management skills and ability to lead engagements from planning to completion.
• Ability to manage multiple client relationships and work well in teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple client engagements and serve as a point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support and optimize financial close processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist with accounting transformation initiatives including cash-to-accrual conversions and opening balance sheet prep.
• Guide organizations through audit readiness and support interactions with external auditors.
• Lead technical accounting projects involving ASC 480, ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 815, and ASC 842.
• Advise on IPO, SPAC, and SEC reporting including disclosures and compliance requirements.
• Prepare and review financial statements, footnote disclosures, memos, reconciliations, and SEC filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K).
• Mentor and develop team members and collaborate with senior leadership to expand engagement scope.
