Job summary

Cherry Bekaert seeks an Accounting Advisory Manager to join its national CFO Advisory practice. This role offers hybrid or remote work with travel as needed to support client engagements and collaboration.

You will advise corporate accounting and finance teams on complex accounting challenges, leading engagements in technical accounting, SEC reporting, and financial transformation while mentoring staff and expanding client scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA license preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting, advisory, or industry accounting.
• Experience supporting SEC registrants, public companies, and/or PE-backed organizations.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, or SEC reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple client engagements and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support and optimize financial close processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and timelines.
• Assist with accounting transformation initiatives, including cash-to-accrual conversions and opening balance sheet prep.
• Guide organizations through audit readiness and interactions with external auditors.
• Lead technical accounting projects involving ASC 480, ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 815 and ASC 842.
• Advise clients on IPO, SPAC, and SEC reporting matters, including disclosures.
• Prepare and review financial statements, footnote disclosures, memos, reconciliations and SEC filings.
• Mentor team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Partner with senior leadership to identify opportunities to expand engagement scope.
