DaMar Staffing is seeking a full-time remote Certified Coder specialized in AHIMA / AAPC guidelines to join our healthcare team. You will be responsible for coding using CPT and ICD-10, reviewing medical records, and ensuring accurate, timely coding across varied settings.

Preferred qualifications include AHIMA/AAPC certification, experience with AthenaOne/ECW/EPIC/Intergy, and knowledge of OB, FQHC, or CHC coding. HIPAA compliance and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Certification in AHIMA or AAPC is required.
• Experience with AthenaOne, ECW, EPIC, Intergy preferred.
• OB, FQHC or CHC coding experience desired.
• OBGYN coding experience preferred.
• Experience with Evaluation and Management services.
• Understanding of the medical billing and coding lifecycle.
• Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment.
• Knowledge of Medicare, managed care and commercial insurance.
• Ability to prioritize workload and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Uses ICD-10 standards to code and abstract medical records.
• Reviews records to verify diagnoses and procedures.
• Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes to all billable encounters.
• Queries physicians to determine principal diagnosis and sequencing.
• Ensures records are coded accurately and timely per customer timelines.
