Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a full-time remote Certified Health Information Coder to assign ICD and CPT codes for patients receiving ancillary and surgical services, ensuring compliant billing and accurate data entry into electronic databases.

The role requires AHIMA or AAPC accreditation and CPC/RHIT/RHIA certification, with at least 3 years of surgical coding experience and 6 months in outpatient ancillary/surgical records, plus proficiency with computer systems.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an AHIMA or AAPC accredited Health Information Tech/Management or Coding program.
• Certification as CPC, RHIT, or RHIA obtained through an accredited coding program.
• At least 3 years of professional surgical case coding experience and 6 months of experience coding outpatient ancillary/surgical records.
• Experience coding professional surgical cases within at least one specialty.
• Proven skill with computers and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD and CPT codes for patient accounts and abstract coded data into the information system.
• Ensure compliance with billing procedures by assigning applicable APCs and CPTs for professional records.
• Perform data entry into electronic databases for quality assessment, outcome analysis, and financial management.
