Job summary

Pena4 Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) to join our remote team. The specialist will code inpatient and outpatient accounts using ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS CPT, and related references, ensuring accurate submissions.

Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience with a CCS credential. The role is full-time, 100% remote, with immediate start and required coding assessments for consideration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certificate is required.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and DRG assignment.
• Remote work availability and full-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Examine medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Accurately sequence diagnoses and procedures with target DRG assignments.
• Maintain high accuracy and productivity in coding tasks.
• Identify information gaps and coordinate with staff for clarification.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and share knowledge with team.
• Complete assignments as directed by management and pursue continuing education.
• Work collaboratively with the department and client teams to meet goals.
• Perform special projects as required.
