Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) is hiring a Casualty Evaluator for remote work. You will own injury exposure cases up to $50,000, handle first and third-party auto liability matters, and support homeowners losses in a mostly virtual environment. Applicants should have a high school diploma and 2+ years of claims experience, with BA/BS preferred. Occasional travel and extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or a combination of education and 2+ directly relevant work experience.
• 2 years of related professional experience
• 2 years of claims experience

• Strong ability to work independently.

• Basic math and computer skills and ability to type 30 wpm.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills and good command of the English language.

• Ability to successfully complete training courses pertinent to job duties.
• Developing understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements
• Developing understanding of AAA claims policies and procedures preferred.
• Ability to travel on rare occasions.
• Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assigned as owning adjuster when injury exposure is identified.
• Handles both represented and unrepresented first and third-party cases up to $50,000 exposure.
• Handles claims in multiple states including licensed and statutory states.
• Handles homeowners liability low complexity property damage claims.
• Supports claims by handling Small Claims to conclusion.
• May own low complexity claims during catastrophes.
• May handle first party Medical Payment and PIP.
• Investigates, negotiates, settles and resolves injury claims under authority.
• Manages productivity by seeking claim assignments via queues.
• Triage is self-managed within the claims system.
• Make coverage determinations and advise on proper actions.
• Conducts complex investigative work (witness interviews, evidence review).
• May represent insured/company at settlement conferences, arbitrations or trials.
• May testify in deposition settings.
• Evaluate subrogation potential and initiate notices.
• Present cases in committees for higher authority negotiations.
