Job summary

Ascend Medical is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Care Navigators by managing patient interactions, triaging, booking telehealth appointments, and preparing patients for examinations. This role involves direct patient contact and administrative support within a patient-first, accessible healthcare model.

The position emphasizes compassionate service, use of EMR, and collaboration with the care team in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• CCMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years MA experience in healthcare.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Book telehealth appointments, triage patients virtually, and record patient interview, history & chief complaint using Ascend’s EMR.
• Facilitate telehealth consultations by pre-visit chart review and planning, ensure equipment is operable, orient patients to technology, and support communication between provider and patient.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with referrals for routine screening tests; explain treatment procedures and physician instructions.
• Work with the Care Coordinator to ensure care plans and follow-up appointments are in place.
• Organize inbound/outbound communications – calls, chats, and emails as assigned.
