TEKsystems is seeking a Healthcare Billing Specialist for a contract-to-hire role based in Charlotte, NC, with a fully remote work arrangement. You will handle inbound and outbound calls, verify insurance benefits, assist with prior authorizations, and guide patients through enrollment in copay assistance programs.

The position emphasizes customer service, accuracy, and collaboration with providers and teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in pharmacy, medical billing, insurance verification, and/or related healthcare experience; must include work with J-code and/or HCPCS.
• Customer service experience required.
• Healthcare industry experience required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all inbound and outbound phone calls to patients and providers.
• Single point of contact communication with providers and patients in a designated geographical area.
• Contact insurance companies to perform benefit investigations and coverage eligibility for client product.
• Assist with prior authorizations with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Assist patients with enrollment for copay assistance programs.
• Provide courteous, friendly, professional service to internal and external customers.
• Update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
• Work efficiently both individually and within a team.
• Maintain and improve quality by adhering to standards and guidelines.
• Eligibility enrollment into Patient Assistance Program(s).
• Ability to verify insurance requirements to support billing processes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medical billing processes to internal and external customers.
• Identify and provide corrective actions for medical billing reimbursement to provider offices.
