Job summary

Optum Home & Community Care, part of UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a remote Care Support Specialist to educate members about program benefits, coordinate non-clinical referrals, and support providers. You0ll join an interdisciplinary team delivering compassionate care anytime and anywhere.

This role requires 1+ years of customer service, strong phone presence, and proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Workhours are 8am-5pm ET, with occasional overtime and a virtual training period.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience.
• Must be 18 years of age OR older.
• 1+ years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems.
• 1+ years of experience in a telephonic customer service position, such as a call center.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit, save and send documents and spreadsheets).
• Ability to work full time. Flexibility to work normal business hours 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the intake of members or the admission/discharge information post notification.
• Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers.
• Manage the referral process, processing incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles.
• Provide appropriate triage and care coordination notification cases for non-clinical assessment/intervention.
• Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers in a high-volume, customer service environment.
