Some remote work may be possible for commutable distances, supporting efficient patient scheduling and care coordination. The role emphasizes accurate insurance verification, patient education, scheduling, and collaboration with care teams to meet service and financial goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 1+ year of customer service experience in a clinical setting.
• 1+ year of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience (EPIC preferred).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility using registration/scheduling systems.
• Update demographic, insurance, and other patient information.
• Handle patient phone inquiries and adhere to department metrics.
• Identify priorities and contact providers under guidelines for emergencies.
• Educate patients about managed care plans and referrals.
• Schedule patient visits and procedures for inpatients and outpatients.
• Notify providers and patients of scheduling changes and add-ons.
• Assist with training new staff and perform other duties as needed.
