Job summary

Nana Management Services, LLC seeks a Kitchen Helper for remote Alaska camps. You will assist cooks, prepare food, stock areas, and maintain sanitation in a busy kitchen, storeroom, dining, and serving areas at remote camps.

You must have at least a year in commercial kitchen work, Alaska Food Workers Card/ServSafe, and be able to work 12 hours per shift in a dormitory setting. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of work experience in a commercial kitchen or related training.
• Must have or obtain Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire.
• Must pass pre-employment requirements including drug test, BAT, physical and fit for duty, hearing test; travel to testing facility if not nearby.
• Must be able to work as part of a team with coworkers, customers and clients.
• Must be able to stand for 12 hours per shift and live in dormitory-style housing.
• Contract requires English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks and coordinate activities within food service areas.
• Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
• Maintain products at proper levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas.
• Stock various food service areas with products and materials.
• Clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and store properly.
• Wash objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Clean, sweep, wipe down dining, kitchen, or storage areas and equipment.
• Assist with large periodic cleaning projects.
• Remove garbage from assigned areas.
• Set up and break down tables, snack bars, display cases, serving lines.
• May prepare food as needed and perform other related duties.
• Notify supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not met.
