Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking a Remote Kitchen Helper to maintain sanitation, support cooks, and perform cleaning, stocking and serving duties in remote camp kitchens and living areas in Alaska. The role requires English literacy, a valid Alaska Food Workers Card or ServSafe, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts in dormitory-style housing.

Responsibilities include food preparation, stocking, dishwashing, cleaning, and basic maintenance while adhering to safety guidelines and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a commercial kitchen or related vocational training.
• At least one year of work experience in commercial housekeeping.
• Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification on hire.
• Must pass pre-employment testing (drug test, physical, fit-for-duty, hearing test).
• Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to stand for 12 hours per shift.
• Must live in dormitory-style accommodations in remote camps.
• Contract requires English literacy (read, write, speak).
• Must meet safety guidelines and regulations set by company and client.

Responsibilities

• Assists cooks and coordinates activities within a food service area.
• Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
• Maintains product levels in prep, serving, or storage areas including service machines.
• Stocks food service areas with supplies and materials.
• Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and stores them orderly.
• Washes objects by hand or with cleaning equipment; sanitizes areas.
• Cleans dining, kitchen, and storage areas; sweeps and mops floors.
• Removes garbage from assigned areas.
• Sets up, breaks down, and cleans tables and serving lines.
• May perform other duties and light facility maintenance as needed.
