Job summary

NMS is seeking a remote head cook to lead kitchen staff in a remote camp in Alaska, ensuring safety, training, and quality service. You will supervise up to 30 staff, manage food prep per recipes, and uphold company safety and sanitation standards.

The role requires long shifts, housing in dormitory-style facilities, travel to remote sites, and strict adherence to English language and pre-employment testing. Prior high-volume cooking and supervisory experience are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus formal training or equivalent experience.
• Ability to train others and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must communicate effectively and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Selects and develops recipes based on type of food and experience.
• Cooks or prepares food according to recipes.
• Prepares, cooks, and serves meats, sauces, vegetables, soups, and other foods.
• Supervises up to 30 staff in a remote camp setting; maintains safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintains excellent client and staff communications to improve service quality.
