Job summary

Nana Management Services, LLC is hiring a Remote Kitchen Helper for remote Alaska camp locations. You’ll support cooks, clean, stock, and maintain sanitation across kitchen, dining, and service areas.

Shifts can be long, with 12-hour rotations, and duties include food prep, dishwashing, and general cleaning. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, 1+ year in a commercial kitchen or verified training, Alaska Food Workers Card/ServSafe, ability to stand long hours, and English

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of work experience in a commercial kitchen or documented vocational training sufficient to demonstrate knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment, restaurant food preparation, and general commercial cleaning processes.
• Must have or obtain Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire.
• Must pass pre-employment tests including drug, physical and fit-for-duty assessments.
• Must be able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively in English.
• Must stand for 12 hours per shift and live in dormitory-style housing where required.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
• Must meet safety guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assists cooks and coordinates activities within food service area.
• Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchens, dining and storage areas.
• Stock food service areas with products and materials.
• Clean dishes and utensils and store properly.
• Perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping and dusting.
• Handle waste removal and use appropriate cleaning solutions.
• Set up and break down tables, snack bars and serving lines.
• May perform light facility maintenance.
• Travel and safety requirements for remote camps may apply.
