Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a Hardware Expert – CAD & Mechanical Design to support an AI training project. The role is remote, contractor, approx 15 hours per week, and requires strong CAD skills, Python, and computational geometry.

You will create accurate 3D models, validate designs, and export STEP files, collaborating with engineers across time zones. This role offers flexible scheduling and a chance to contribute to cutting-edge AI hardware development.

Qualifications

• Interpret engineering drawings and create accurate 3D CAD models.
• Proficient in Python for CAD automation and programmatic modeling.
• Experience with computational geometry and topology checks.
• Familiarity with FreeCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape or similar tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and create precise 3D CAD models.
• Develop complex mechanical geometry using CAD tools.
• Use Python for CAD automation and scripting.
• Export and validate STEP and other solid-model formats.
• Verify dimensions, geometry, topology, and physical properties.
• Troubleshoot and refine CAD models for accuracy.
