Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a Hardware Expert – CAD & Mechanical Design for a contract role. This position is fully remote with global scope and about 15 hours per week, focusing on precise 3D modeling, CAD workflows, and Python automation for an AI training project.

You will interpret drawings, build accurate 3D CAD models, develop complex geometry, export STEP formats, and verify tolerances. Practical experience with FreeCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape or CadQuery is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong CAD and mechanical design experience.
• Good Python and 3D spatial reasoning skills.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and validating CAD models.
• Familiarity with FreeCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, CadQuery, or similar tools is a plus.
• No specific degree or years of experience required; practical expertise valued.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and create accurate 3D CAD models.
• Develop complex mechanical geometry using CAD tools.
• Use Python for CAD automation and programmatic modeling.
• Export and validate STEP and other solid-model formats.
• Verify dimensions, topology, and physical properties.
• Troubleshoot and refine CAD models for accuracy.
