Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a Hardware Expert with strong CAD and mechanical design skills to support an AI training project. The role involves creating precise 3D models, interpreting drawings, and automating CAD tasks with Python.

The ideal candidate has experience validating CAD models and working with tools like FreeCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, and Onshape. This is a remote, contractor position requiring ~15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with CAD and mechanical design.
• Good Python and 3D spatial reasoning skills.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and validating CAD models.
• Familiarity with FreeCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, CadQuery, or similar tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and create accurate 3D CAD models.
• Develop complex mechanical geometry using CAD tools.
• Use Python for CAD automation and programmatic modeling.
• Export and validate STEP and other solid-model formats.
• Verify dimensions, geometry, topology, and physical properties.
• Troubleshoot and refine CAD models for accuracy.
