Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a C# ASP.NET web application with a SQL Server backend. This position is fully remote within the United States and involves working with SSIS packages, AD integration, and SQL Server Agent jobs.

Responsibilities include maintaining applications, optimizing SQL Server performance, deploying SSIS, and collaborating with DBAs and security teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions while following .NET best

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 12+ years of experience or commensurate professional experience.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience.
• Solid T-SQL skills and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication. Able read/write to AD.
• SQL Server Agent job management.
• Familiarity with IIS administration.
• Git-based development workflow.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications, ensuring seamless integration between front-end and back-end components.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages.
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage relational databases (SQL Server), including writing efficient T-SQL, stored procedures.
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and debug issues across the full application stack.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including database admins and security teams.
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices.
• Write clean, maintainable code following .NET standards and OO design.
• Optimize data models and database architectures for performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and promote best practices.
• Stay current with .NET updates and Microsoft ecosystem.
