Job summary

GovCIO is hiring an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a C# ASP.NET web application with a SQL Server backend, SSIS packages, Active Directory integration, and SQL Server Agent scheduled jobs. This position is fully remote within the United States.

Responsibilities include maintaining and improving ASP.NET applications, supporting SQL Server databases, updating SSIS packages, and managing SQL Server Agent jobs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or Engineering with 12+ years of experience or commensurate professional experience.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience.
• Solid T-SQL skills and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication.
• SQL Server Agent job management.
• Familiarity with IIS administration.
• Git-based development workflow.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages.
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage SQL Server databases with T-SQL.
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot across UI, app, DB, and server layers.
• Collaborate with DBAs, sysadmins, and security teams.
• Maintain documentation and secure coding practices.
• Write clean, maintainable code following .NET standards.
• Optimize data models and database architectures.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold .NET best practices.
• Stay current with .NET updates and Microsoft ecosystem.
