Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a C# ASP.NET web application with a SQL Server backend, SSIS packages, and AD integration. This full-time, fully remote role is within the United States.

You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot across the full stack, collaborate with DBAs and security teams, and ensure secure coding practices while keeping up with .NET updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 12+ years of experience or commensurate professional experience.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience with MVC/Web API/Web Forms.
• Solid T-SQL skills and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication; read/write to AD.
• SQL Server Agent job management and IIS administration.
• Git-based development workflow and good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications with front-end/back-end integration.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages.
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage SQL Server databases, including T-SQL and stored procedures.
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across UI to database and server layers.
• Collaborate with DBAs, sysadmins, and security teams to design features and troubleshoot.
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices.
• Write clean, well-documented code following .NET standards and OO design.
• Optimize data models and architectures for performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold .NET best practices.
• Stay current with .NET updates; propose improvements where relevant.
