Job summary

Keystone Experts & Engineers, LLC is recruiting Building Consultants for a fully remote, part-time 1099 contract position. You will evaluate property damage, prepare estimates and reports, and provide expert insights for insurers, attorneys, and stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have hands-on construction experience, licenses where required, and the ability to work independently with tight deadlines. Travel for CAT evaluations is occasionally required.

Qualifications

• Experience in general contracting, construction, home remodeling, mitigation, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with insurance-related repairs or claims estimating.
• Proficiency in construction estimating methods, including time & materials.
• Familiar with industry software such as Symbility, Matterport, DocuSketch, Hover.
• Strong written communication skills to produce detailed reports.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to assignments; schedule inspections within 24 hours.
• Conduct on-site property inspections within 7 days of assignment.
• Prepare detailed photo reports and cost estimates using Xactimate.
• Collaborate with Keystone’s Managing Building Consultant; respond within 24 hours of feedback.
• Occasionally travel for CAT event evaluations.
• Participate in joint inspections and communicate with policyholders and adjusters.
• Provide credible expert testimony when required based on construction experience.
