Job summary

Keystone Experts & Engineers is seeking Building Consultants for flexible, contract-based work. This fully remote, part-time 1099 position focuses on evaluating property damage, preparing estimates and reports, and delivering expert insights for insurance carriers, attorneys, and stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have a background in construction or mitigation, and familiarity with Xactimate, Symbility, Matterport, DocuSketch, and Hover. Travel for CAT events may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in general contracting, construction, home remodeling, mitigation, or related fields.
• Contractor’s license if required in your state.
• Hands-on experience with insurance-related repairs or claims estimating.
• Proficiency with estimating methods including time & materials and software-based systems.
• Familiar with industry software such as Xactimate, Symbility, Matterport, DocuSketch, Hover.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to assignments promptly, typically scheduling inspections within 24 hours.
• Conduct onsite property inspections within 7 days of assignment.
• Access rooftops, crawlspaces, and challenging environments for full evaluations.
• Prepare detailed photo reports, cost estimates, and written reports within 7 days post-inspection.
• Collaborate with Keystone’s Managing Building Consultant during review and approval, responding within 24 hours.
