Job summary

Keystone Experts & Engineers is seeking experienced Building Consultants for a flexible, contract-based role supporting insurance clients nationwide. This fully remote, part-time 1099 position focuses on evaluating property damage, preparing estimates, and delivering expert insights for carriers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on construction or mitigation background, proficiency with estimating methods and inspection software, and the ability to travel for CAT

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in construction, contracting, or mitigation.
• Experience with insurance-related repairs or claims estimating.
• Ability to prepare professional estimates and detailed reports.
• Proficiency with construction estimating methods (time & materials).
• Familiarity with industry software such as Symbility, Matterport, DocuSketch, and Hover.

Responsibilities

• Respond to assignments promptly and schedule inspections.
• Conduct thorough onsite inspections with engineers within 7 days.
• Access rooftops and crawlspaces for full evaluations.
• Prepare photo reports, cost estimates, and written reports within 7 days.
• Collaborate with Managing Building Consultant during review.
• Travel for CAT event evaluations.
• Work with policyholders, engineers, and adjusters.
• Provide expert testimony when required.
