Job summary

Keystone Experts & Engineers is seeking experienced Building Consultants for a flexible, contract-based role supporting insurance claims. The position is fully remote, part-time, 1099 contracted, ideal for professionals with a background in general contracting, estimating, or insurance claims who can act as third-party experts.

Qualifications

• Experience in general contracting, construction, home remodeling, mitigation, or related fields.
• Current contractor license where required by state.
• Hands-on experience with insurance repairs or claims estimating.
• Proficiency with estimating methods including time & materials and software-based systems.
• Knowledge of tools such as Symbility, Matterport, DocuSketch, and Hover.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to assignments promptly and schedule inspections within 24 hours.
• Conduct on-site property inspections within 7 days of assignment, often with engineers.
• Access rooftops and crawl spaces to perform full evaluations.
• Prepare detailed photo reports, cost estimates, and written reports within 7 days after inspection.
• Collaborate with the Managing Building Consultant during review and approve feedback within 24 hours.
• Travel for CAT events as needed.
• Participate in joint inspections and communicate with policyholders, engineers, and adjusters.
• Provide expert testimony when required based on construction experience.
