Job summary

NMS is seeking a Remote Breakfast Cook/Baker for an industrial remote camp in Alaska. You will assist with preparation, production, and presentation of a variety of foods and bakery goods, while directing and training kitchen staff and completing production sheets.

The role requires handling high-volume production, enforcing safety standards, and working an extended 12-hour shift in a remote setting. Prior supervisory experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years restaurant cooking or baking experience.
• Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe certification.
• Ability to instruct and train others; capable of multitasking.
• Must be able to stand for 12 hours per shift.
• Must be able to live in dormitory-style settings and remote camp.
• Must pass pre-employment requirements (drug test, physical, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Perform main line food production duties per shift.
• Cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, bakery items.
• Prepare bakery products in a remote camp setting.
• Complete pastry preparations (mixing, baking, frying).
• Assist supervisors with menu and recipe development.
• Monitor and rotate kitchen items with proper rotation.
• Ensure sanitation; clean preparation areas and equipment.
• Supervise and train food service staff; communicate needs to supervisors.
• Assist in serving lines and during special duties.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and remote camp policies.
