HigherRing is hiring a remote Bookkeeping Specialist with US and Canadian experience to manage full-charge bookkeeping for multiple clients. You will handle AR/AP, reconciliations, payroll, journal entries, and financial reporting, working under the Bookkeeping Manager.

The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can translate financial activity into clear reports to support data-driven decisions. Strong communication and tech-savviness are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of bookkeeping experience
• US and Canadian bookkeeping experience required
• Experience using bookkeeping software (QuickBooks Online and Desktop, Xero, FreshBooks, Sage, NetSuite, Wave, Intacct, Procore)
• Bilingual - English and Spanish (written and spoken)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Proficient with Google Workspace, Slack, and Asana or similar tools
• Two-year accounting degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Supports client bookkeeping functions including accounts receivable/payable, bank reconciliations, payroll, journal entries, and reporting
• Deep experience in full-charge bookkeeping with multiple clients
• Prepare and interpret financial reports (Balance Sheet, P&L, cash flows)
• Understand cash vs accrual accounting nuances
• Maintain organized processes and documentation
• Meet month-end deadlines and compile client information for tax preparation as requested
• Research and determine best practices for client systems and processes
