Patriot Software, a remote-first accounting and payroll software company in the United States, is seeking a Bookkeeping Manager to lead a team of seven bookkeepers and own GAAP‑compliant client work.

You will balance client portfolios, coach staff, and collaborate with Accounting, Product, and Operations to improve workflows and accuracy. This is a direct-hire, full-time, remote role with competitive pay and benefits.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, incl. monthly closes and reconciliations.
• 2+ years of leadership or management experience with coaching and accountability.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and USA-based accounting and payroll.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with all levels of staff.
• Ability to review books for accuracy and explain fixes clearly.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the Bookkeeping team’s day-to-day functions, including workload assignment and client portfolio balance.
• Set and enforce GAAP-based bookkeeping quality standards.
• Perform regular quality audits and coach team members to improve accuracy.
• Assist with client accounts, new setups, clean-up projects, and monthly closures.
• Escalate and resolve complex customer issues using payroll and accounting knowledge.
• Track team performance and report to Head of Operations with clear insights.
• Coach and develop the team through 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding of new bookkeepers.
