Job summary

Somewhere is seeking an Accounting Manager to own the accounting function for a book of business while remaining hands-on with day-to-day accounting, team leadership, and client deliverables.

This full-time remote role requires strong English, multi-state payroll and tax experience, and the ability to manage multiple clients to deadlines. Prior management experience is preferred, CPA/EA or accounting degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Full-cycle bookkeeping across multiple clients.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
• Multi-state payroll tax filings (941/940) and W-2s.
• Ability to manage deadlines and client communications.

Responsibilities

• Own and oversee monthly accounting across multiple clients, including month-end close and deadlines.
• Perform accounting work directly or delegate and track completion.
• Supervise accounting staff, assign work, review output.
• Report client and team status to President/CEO.
