Job summary

Assist World is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to maintain accurate books for client accounts. The role starts with 1–2 client accounts (≈10 hours/month) and grows to ~10 accounts, potentially becoming full-time. You will ensure audit-ready files, GAAP compliance, and timely month-end closes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years bookkeeping, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience with QuickBooks Online. This is 100% remote with EST/ET business hours and professional setup.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years accounting/bookkeeping experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Proven experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Experience managing multiple client accounts; organised and detail oriented.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Able to work during EST business hours.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Reliable internet connection and a professional remote setup.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for assigned client accounts.
• Record and reconcile financial transactions using QuickBooks.
• Perform month-end close procedures.
• Prepare and maintain audit-ready financial files and supporting documentation each month.
• Ensure financial records comply with GAAP.
• Manage accrual-based accounting and journal entries.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly.
• Work closely with the Business CFO for Hire team to meet deadlines.
• Provide clear communication with internal teams and clients when required.
