Job summary

Syner-G is seeking a Project Manager to oversee construction and engineering projects from planning through commissioning and closeout. You will coordinate activities, maintain schedules and budgets, and ensure work aligns with quality and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keep the Project Director informed of progress, risks, and issues, and provide recommended solutions or mitigation strategies.
• Review technical submissions from Architectural and Engineering (A&E) firms, including MEP drawings, structural drawings, and construction specifications.
• Respond to and manage construction communications such as RFIs, submittals, and technical clarifications.
• Assist with preparation and execution of job start-up and close-out checklists.
• Read, interpret, and manage project plans, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, correspondence, shop drawings, and other project-related documents.
• Maintain accurate and complete as-built project documentation.
• Support Transfer of Care and Custody (TOCC) to facilities operations and ensure proper documentation for transition from construction to maintenance mode.
• Use project and construction management software such as ProCore, E-Builder, or Prolog.
• Act as the owner’s representative on capital projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project goals.
• Use Microsoft Project to develop, maintain, and track project schedules.
• Participate in daily planning meetings, document observations, and ensure alignment across project teams.
• Walk construction sites regularly to verify progress, identify field issues, and support resolution efforts.
• Prepare daily reports, photo documentation, and progress measurements.
• Review construction site safety documents such as work permits, task plans, and job hazard analyses, and collaborate with the client’s EHS team to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate and support contractors including general contractors, construction managers, mechanical, electrical, and specialty trades.
• Support project execution in active operating facilities, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
• Assist with start-up, commissioning, and handover of building systems including HVAC, emergency power, UPS systems, lab gases, RODI water, boilers, and steam generators.
• Develop and implement document control, information management, and records governance processes.
• Establish standards for filing structures, naming conventions, metadata, version control, and quality assurance.
• Coordinate documentation requirements, deliverables, turnover strategies, and audit readiness across project teams.
• Monitor compliance, documentation quality, and drive continuous process improvement.
• Develop training materials, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent adoption across the organization.
