bioMérieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers within the Wisconsin/Illinois region and nationally as needed. The role requires installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repair of complex systems, with overnight travel and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting/repair of electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems in commercial/industrial/military settings.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities.
• Collaborate across service and support teams to drive field service revenue.
• Attend 6–9 weeks of product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year; future trainings as needed.
• Travel includes scheduled and unscheduled visits, with overnight stays for wide territories and occasional national travel.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks) with potential national travel.
• Complete work orders, QA checklists, and internal training requirements promptly.
• Maintain calendar of availability and submit travel expense reports regularly.
• Follow policy for fleet vehicle upkeep; manage spare parts inventory and equipment.
• Continuously improve technical and interpersonal skills; collaborate with Sales and Applications teams.
• Represent bioMérieux professionally and support trade shows as needed.
• Perform work in compliance with quality procedures and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
