Job summary

Maverick Search Partners, LLC is conducting a confidential search for a remote Billing Supervisor to lead day-to-day billing, invoicing, and accounts receivable operations. You will supervise a small accounting team, ensure accuracy, and drive improvements across billing workflows while supporting client invoicing and portal submissions.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in billing/AR, strong Excel and ERP experience, and a track record of coaching teams in a professional services environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in billing, accounting, accounts receivable, or business office operations.
• Supervisory, team lead, or management experience preferred.
• Professional services or consulting environment experience preferred.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
• Strong Excel skills plus proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with a cloud-based accounting or ERP system preferred
• Fast, accurate data entry and 10-key skills
• Sharp analytical skills and a knack for spotting what doesn't add up
• Clear, professional communication at every level of an organization
• Ability to juggle competing deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
• Self-directed, accountable, and proactive about fixing broken processes

Responsibilities

• Review and process incoming consultant and vendor invoices for accuracy against contract terms and internal policy
• Lead, coach, and develop team members while upholding quality standards and procedures
• Prepare and issue client invoices accurately and on schedule
• Submit invoices, accruals, and estimates through client billing portals and electronic billing platforms
• Audit rates, agreements, and supporting documentation; investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Serve as the point of contact for consultants on invoice submissions and payment questions
• Monitor open receivables and follow up on past-due accounts
• Evaluate current billing workflows and recommend and implement improvements for accuracy, efficiency, and scale
• Build and maintain onboarding and training for new hires; provide ongoing support to the team
• Partner with internal teams on billing, reporting, and financial operations
• Maintain clean records and support month-end and year-end close
