Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Billing Specialist I to handle inbound customer inquiries via phone and email, acting as the first contact for billing questions and requests. The role involves processing invoices, audits, account adjustments, and supporting internal teams to resolve billing issues.

You will set up customer accounts, verify billing data, and help ensure accuracy while collaborating across departments to maintain strong customer service and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of billing-related experience in a customer-facing role.
• Ability to articulate issues, document resolution and escalate when needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective accounting, organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; Oracle knowledge.
• Experience working with customers or vendors to resolve issues with strong service records.

Responsibilities

• Process billing transactions, invoices, credits, and account adjustments accurately and on time.
• Set up and maintain customer accounts within billing systems.
• Review, verify, and audit billing information for accuracy.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
• Post payments and adjustments to customer accounts.
• Monitor billing reports and identify exceptions or problems.
• Assist with collections-related activities and payment tracking.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing concerns.
• Maintain records and supporting documentation.
• Follow billing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance billing efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
