Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Billing Specialist I. This role involves handling inbound customer inquiries via phone and email as the first point of contact for customers.

You will process, audit, and research invoices, manage approvals, and support billing-related requests across departments. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining customer accounts, resolving discrepancies, posting payments, and monitoring billing reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years billing experience preferred.
• Ability to articulate issues, document resolution, and recognize when to elevate.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Effective accounting, organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills required.
• Excellent computer and software knowledge including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, with Oracle.
• Experience working with customers or vendors to resolve issues with strong customer service track record.

Responsibilities

• Process billing transactions, invoices, credits, and account adjustments accurately and on time.
• Set up and maintain customer accounts in billing systems.
• Review, verify, and audit billing information for accuracy.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
• Post payments and adjustments to customer accounts.
• Monitor billing reports and identify exceptions or issues.
• Assist with collections-related activities and payment tracking.
• Gather information from internal departments to resolve billing concerns.
• Maintain records and supporting documentation.
• Follow billing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
