Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting seeks a Billing Specialist to join our team in the Duluth or Minneapolis, MN office, with the option to work remotely.

You will manage billing in Unanet, generate invoices, support revenue recognition, and provide reporting on project financial metrics while collaborating with project managers and clients.

The anticipated starting salary is $24–$30 per hour, based on skills, location, and experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Adobe, and Power BI is required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate invoices for customers based on pricing and terms, with supporting docs.
• Identify improvements for collections efficiency through client and internal relations.
• Assist with project coordination from JNR and WO processing through closeout.
• Perform unbilled revenue analysis to support revenue recognition reports.
• Collaborate with project managers on forecasting and backlog data.
• Prepare project margin analyses and cost/schedule tracking for status reports.
• Interface with clients for collections updates and ad hoc reporting.
• Conduct assigned account reconciliations for month-end close.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
