Job summary

Ballard Spahr LLP is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage end-to-end client billing, from prebills to final delivery by email or e-bill. You will support lawyers and staff with analyses, time, and billing reports while coordinating with Billing, Pricing, AR, GL, and Conflicts teams.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of high-volume time-and-billing experience in professional services, strong communication skills, and comfortable navigating billing software and vendor portals.

Qualifications

• At least two years of high-volume time and billing experience in a professional services environment.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate with partners and clients.
• Solid basic math skills; demonstrated technology skills with software applications.
• Ability to exercise independent judgement, multitask, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create attorney bills from prebills to final bill delivery by e-mail or e-bill, with edits and approvals.
• Assist lawyers and secretaries with client analyses including time and billing reports.
• Collaborate with Billing, Pricing, AR, GL, and Conflicts teams on discounts, rates, and transfers.
• Navigate vendors' websites for invoice submission, AR review, and rate processing.
