Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Reconciliation Specialist to support our billing teams by reconciling therapy session payments and posting them to customer billing systems. You will work with insurance companies and our billing platforms to ensure accurate accounts receivable and timely reimbursements.

The role requires HIPAA confidentiality, attention to detail, and strong communication. Remote opportunities exist in select states, with typical business hours Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1–2 years payment posting experience preferred.
• ABA experience preferred.
• Experience using insurance company websites/portals required.
• Excellent communication and professional phone skills required.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure HIPAA-compliant confidentiality for all client data.
• Reconcile payments posted from the clearinghouse.
• Post manual payments in all billing platforms (Rethink, Tebra, Azalea).
• Review and interpret EOBs and ERAs.
• Post payments from insurance portals.
• Enroll in ERAs to reduce manual posting and monitor enrollment progress.
• Communicate trends to the Customer Billing Advocate and AR teams.
• Identify underpayments/overpayments and coordinate resolutions.
• Monitor key performance metrics.
• Review payor contracts when applicable.
• Collaborate with POD members to ensure accurate client billing.
