Job summary

Job Duck, LLC seeks a highly organized bilingual civil litigation paralegal to support a fast-paced legal team with litigation matters and court processes. You will draft pleadings, motions, proposed orders, and correspondence while maintaining accurate case documentation and assisting with newly filed lawsuits.

You will communicate professionally with opposing counsel, judicial assistants, court personnel, and internal team members, helping matters move forward efficiently.

Qualifications

• Fluent or highly proficient in English and Spanish.
• Experience supporting litigation matters.
• Civil litigation experience.
• First-party property damage experience.
• E-filing experience.
• Experience supporting U.S. litigation matters.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, or other litigation documents.
• Experience communicating with opposing counsel, courts, or judicial assistants preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist with other litigation and legal administrative duties as assigned.
• Communicate professionally with opposing counsel regarding litigation matters.
• Notify judicial offices of relevant case developments, including settlements.
• Create and maintain accurate contact information for judges and judicial assistants.
• Maintain organized, complete, and accurate case files and documentation.
• Communicate with judicial assistants regarding case questions, updates, and administrative matters.
• Review newly assigned cases and identify the appropriate judge using the assigned case number.
• Prepare and send conferral emails to opposing counsel when required.
• Draft initial pleadings and litigation documents using established templates.
• Research and add judges to the case management system when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of litigation requests, communications, and follow ups.
• Complete E-filing activities accurately and within deadlines.
• Assist with case setup after new lawsuits are filed.
• Draft proposed orders, cover letters to judges, and court related correspondence.
• Prepare witness lists, exhibit lists, and other case documentation.
• Support civil litigation and first-party property damage matters.
• Draft motions to compel, including obtaining deposition dates when parties are unresponsive.
