Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced BI/Analytics Engineer to configure, monitor, and maintain Epic Cogito and BI platforms in a remote-office setting. You will train analysts, enforce data governance, and support project go-lives across time zones.

The role requires 5–7 years of Epic BI experience, Epic Cogito certifications (or plan to obtain within 5 months), and strong collaboration with IT and clinical teams. Remote-friendly with occasional travel per business needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience with Epic Cogito and/or BI tools, is required.
Epic Cogito certifications required with learning plan to obtain missing certifications within 5 months of starting first Epic class.
Typically 5-7 years of experience in Epic applications and BI tools.

Responsibilities

Independently configure, test, monitor, and maintain analytical and operational BI platforms, systems, and servers to meet operational needs.
Monitor analytical and operational BI tools and systems to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor the usage of these systems to ensure that content created by developers adheres to policies, standards, and best practices; train analysts and end users on BI/reporting tools, manage upgrades/changes, and create job aids.
Provide ongoing support for BI/reporting systems including maintenance, upgrades, security changes, testing, license provisioning, issue resolution, and participating in on-call pool.
Apply security changes to BI/reporting systems and manage access in accordance with policy; support consolidation of security configuration for sustainability.
Manage analytics content lifecycle, audit content creation to avoid duplication, monitor usage, and retire content per processes.
Provide accurate documentation for all tasks, following standards.
Independently manage project work using appropriate tools and methodologies.
Stay informed about healthcare environment, EHR and BI tech trends to build skills and drive innovation.
Mentor junior team members and share expertise in BI/reporting administration.
