Job summary

Community Health Programs (CHP) is seeking a Remote Behavioral Health Coordinator to support the Behavioral Health Department from home with occasional on-site meetings in Berkshire County, MA. This 32-hour-per-week role offers benefits eligibility and a predictable Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Professional proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
• Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office with experience working with EHR systems preferred.
• Ideal candidate will have some experience working in a healthcare or mental health environment as a receptionist or intake personnel.
• Required knowledge of general office machines, telephone systems, laptop, and other information systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, shifting focus seamlessly between competing priorities and frequent interruptions while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
• Must be able to maintain a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a quiet, secure home office space.

Responsibilities

• Schedule therapists' appointments and view client charts in advance.
• Receive all inquiries, screen them, take messages, and forward to staff.
• Check client insurance eligibility per procedures.
• Complete initial phone intake scheduling for new clients.
• Schedule/coordinate initial and follow-up appointments for all therapists.
• Type correspondence as requested.
• Handle all department faxes and document uploads to charts.
• Follow CHP policies and report changes to Behavioral Health Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
