Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting, LLC is hiring a Field Technician II - Building Automation in the IAD region near Ashburn, VA. You will learn hands-on to install, startup, and check out BAS/SCADA systems across industrial and commercial projects.

You will work under supervision, support installation and testing, and develop skills in software integration, controls wiring, and system validation while aligning with project goals and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical certificate in Building Automation Systems, Mechanical/Electrical Technology, or closely related field.
• Two years of hands-on installation, testing, validation and troubleshooting of controls infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install, startup, and commission BAS/HVAC controls systems and field devices.
• Assist with wiring and termination of low voltage cables.
• Support site testing, QA/QC, and commissioning activities.
• Record issues, prepare documents, and assist with closeout tasks.
• Document and markup shop drawings for as-built conditions.
