Job summary

Speechify, a leader in text-to-speech technology, seeks a senior backend engineer to design and maintain scalable APIs, including public TTS and internal services for payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics. You will influence architecture, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help deliver a high-availability platform in a fast-paced, async culture.

Ideal candidates have strong TS/Node skills, cloud experience with GCP and comfort with Docker/Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform; AWS/Azure knowledge is a plus.
• Experience designing scalable RESTful APIs and services.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes deployments (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience.
