Job summary

Speechify, a distributed technology company, is seeking a backend engineer to design and maintain the API landscape including Payments, Subscriptions, and Text-to-Speech services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure architecture aligns with product strategy and delivers a delightful user experience.

Ideal candidates have proven TS/Node backend experience, cloud proficiency (GCP; AWS/Azure knowledge), and comfort with Docker and Kubernetes for HA deployments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in backend development: TS/Node (required).
• Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Efficient ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks by urgency and impact.
• Preferred: Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Preferred: Proficiency deploying high availability applications on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience.
