Job summary

Speechify, a distributed text-to-speech company, is seeking a seasoned backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust APIs (public TTS, Payment, Subscription, Auth) and support analytics and new products.

You'll own the full backend landscape, collaborate across teams, and help deliver scalable, high-availability services in a fast-paced, asynchronous culture that values impact and user experience.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience using TS/Node.
• Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS/Azure or similar clouds.
• Ability to ideate quickly and implement with urgency and impact.
• Experience containerizing deployments with Docker and deploying on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS, Payment, Subscription, Auth and Tracking APIs.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on enterprise-focused B2B solutions and system integrations.
• Align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience with cross-functional teams.
