Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Migration Engineer to lead VMware-to-AWS migrations from on-premise environments to AWS in a fully remote role. The ideal candidate will assess infrastructure, plan migrations, build scalable AWS environments using MGN, Terraform, CloudFormation, and automation tooling.

Responsibilities include coordinating with security, network, and application teams, developing runbooks, validating migrations, and ensuring post-migration stabilization with ongoing

Qualifications

• 5+ years supporting VMware infrastructure environments.
• 3+ years designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions.
• Proven VMware-to-AWS migration project experience.
• Experience with AWS MGN and migration tooling.
• Strong scripting and IaC skills (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess VMware vSphere environments and migrations readiness.
• Plan and execute VMware-to-AWS migrations with MGN.
• Develop runbooks, rollback plans, and validation tests.
• Collaborate with security, network, and app teams during migrations.
• Design AWS infrastructure components (VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Automate deployment and optimization using IaC and scripts.
• Perform post-migration stabilization and handoffs.
