Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an AWS Cloud Ops Engineer to monitor, operate, and support AWS cloud infrastructure across production and non-production environments. The role includes daily health checks, CloudWatch monitoring, incident investigation, EC2/EBS backup validation, and VPC/log management.

This remote position requires 5+ years in IT infrastructure with 3+ years AWS operations, strong communication, and weekend/on-call readiness. Certifications are preferred; salary ranges apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT infrastructure or cloud operations with 3+ years on AWS.
• Experience supporting production AWS workloads with monitoring tools.
• Strong communication, documentation, ownership and weekend/on-call readiness.
• AWS certifications preferred: SysOps/SA/Cloud Practitioner.
• Hands-on with EC2, EBS, RDS, S3, VPC, Route 53 Private Hosted Zones, CloudWatch, IAM.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily AWS cloud infrastructure health checks and readiness reviews.
• Configure and enhance monitoring using CloudWatch and Dynatrace with dashboards and alarms.
• Investigate alerts for outages, performance issues, and anomalies.
• Configure notifications to on‑call for critical events and incidents.
• Manage EBS snapshots, backups, and disk sizing for EC2/RDS instances.
• Manage VPC flow logs, EC2 logs, S3 bucket access, and DNS/firewall coordination.
• Troubleshoot outages, restarts, networking issues, and access problems.
• Support deployments by executing approved runbooks and weekend communications.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation and support TriZetto Facets installation activities.
